Case Study

A pharmaceutical manufacturer was considering the opportunity to license-in a nephrology product that addresses one of the side effects of renal dialysis and needed to develop an understanding of the potential opportunity in a series of Asian markets

Since the client needed the information across 10 markets in a rapid period of time and with a limited budget, TCI decided to concentrate its efforts on a series of face to face interviews with doctors and key opinion leaders at a major international nephrology conference. This was expanded where necessary with subsequent telephone interviews in specific target countries

TCI was able to characterise the market in each country through an understanding of the disease incidence and prevalence and the number of specialist physicians and institutions, as well as assessing the likely market price that would be attainable. Specific recommendations were also provided on potential local partners to address the client’s limited distribution capabilities in the region
